If you have a new baby, and you are looking for an apartment to rent, then you are going to want to consider things that you likely would've never thought of before. Things that once didn't matter to you, are likely now going to be a necessity for you. Because of this, you are going to want to be some time and effort into your apartment search to ensure that all of your needs are met. There are likely going to be a lot of apartments that can meet your needs, but you will just need to be prepared and make sure that you tell your real estate agent exactly what it is that you are looking for. This article is going to discuss 3 things to consider when looking for an apartment to rent when you have a new baby.

Washer And Dryer Hook Ups

When you have a baby, it is inevitable that you are going to have more laundry than you ever have before. Between your baby spitting up and having blow-outs, they are likely going to end up going through multiple outfits, blankets, and burp cloths each day. Also, because baby poop can stain quite easily, it is important that you wash the clothes that they pooped on quickly. While you may have once been okay with making a trip to the laundromat to wash your clothes, you are likely going to want a place within your apartment where you can wash them now. Because of this, you will want to consider looking at apartments that either have a washer and dryer in them, or at least have washer and dryer hookups so that you can purchase your own washer and dryer to install and use in your apartment.

Level Of The Apartment

Another thing to consider is what level your apartment is on. Having neighbors above you can sometimes be difficult because they make noise, and this may wake your baby up. Being on the top floor ensures that no one is going to be making noise above you, which can help your baby to sleep much better.

Presence Of A Bathtub

It is extremely hard to try and shower with a little baby because water and soap can get into their eyes, nose, and mouth, which can cause them to get upset and can be potentially dangerous for them. Bathing on the other hand, is going to be much safer and easier for you. Because of this, you are going to want to explain to the real estate agent who is showing you apartments to rent that you would like an apartment that has one or more bathtubs in it for you to safely and easily bath your baby.
